YOGA THERAPIST & TEACHER
My passion for people being able to bridge the mind, body & breath connection is the foundation to my work. For those who come to me; supporting you with increasing your sovereignty, agency and sense of empowerment over your own experiences and path is my absolute focus.
Most of my therapy clients have experienced varying degrees of trauma and complex trauma, have an array of physical symptoms that often correlate, meaning the journey towards improved health is gentle and at a pace that allows time to integrate the changes as they arise.
It is important that integration happens for lasting change to exist, this is why a therapeutic practice must be a slow consistent process and why quick fixes often fail to uphold any significant change.
Yoga is integration, it is the union of all parts that makes us human and allow us to experience the present as it actually is as opposed to seeing life through the gaze that becomes coloured by past experiences.
The relationship between health issues and psycho-emotional patterning has been of huge interest to me since the mid 1990’s. As a teenager I was fascinated by the idea that difficult experiences can affect health. I was fortunate to have in my home a unique, unpublished at the time, book called Messages From The Body. This had a deep impression on me. To witness now a surge in mainstream recognition of the mind body-connection is quite incredible and now not only am I still in awe by the incredible dynamics of our nature but I have studied it extensively and continue to do so!
Over the years I’ve immersed myself in trainings, books and practice in the fields of hatha yoga, yoga philosophy and Somatics. Even when life has felt very bleak the practices and philosophy of yoga have helped keep me steady.
I began teaching yoga classes in early 2013 and prior to that my regular practice was alleviating anxiety and low mood and so I was keen to share these life changing practices. This hasn’t changed. Though what has changed is the profound way in which yoga has really supported my journey through life, through all manor of challenge, difficulty and grief.
In 2022 I opened my small home studio where I teach therapeutic classes and work as a therapist. More recently in September 2025 I became a Senior Teacher of the wonderful Vajrasati Yoga School in Brighton where I regularly mentor.
I understand increasingly the deep connection of the mind-body-breath and from both the view points of Western science, Yogic wisdom and in more recent years Ayurveda to, which is providing far more grounding - yet I’m only just skimming the surface there!
I maintain study with my yoga therapy trainer Colin Dunsmuir who is trained in the tradition of T.Krishnamacharya under TKV Desikachar. I also receive regular supervision to support my work as a therapist with Carol Lyon who also practices within the tradition of T.Krishnamacharya.
If you’re interested to explore yoga & somatics with me there are several ways in which we can work together. Take a look at my offerings and any questions just let me know. I look forward to welcoming you either here in person or online soon.
